Trxy! confronts darkness on debut album Drowning In Bliss

Southern Virginia native Trxy! has released his debut album, Drowning In Bliss, out now via UnitedMasters. Rooted in shoegaze, dreamgaze, and nu-metal, the album fuses hazy textures with a sharp, metallic edge, channeling ‘90s and 2000s influences through a modern, emotionally exposed lens.
Produced by: Lawrence Rothman and Joe Kennedy
Produced and mixed by Grammy winner Lawrence Rothman alongside Joe Kennedy,Drowning In Bliss spans 14 tracks that plunge into themes of depression, suffering, emptiness, and emotional isolation. Dense, immersive soundscapes define its sonic identity, with distorted guitars and layered vocals enveloping the listener in a carefully constructed haze. Despite its polished production, the record retains a raw immediacy — much of it was created on Trxy!’s phone using BandLab — reinforcing a DIY ethos that amplifies its emotional directness. The result is a cohesive body of work that balances catharsis with restraint.
Several standout tracks illustrate the album’s tonal range. ‘You Said’ and ‘Shallow’ underscore Trxy!’s ability to merge dreamlike atmosphere with weighty undercurrents, while ‘Cut Out My Heart’ leans into the project’s confessional core. ‘Closure,’ one of the key singles, sharpens Trxy!’s signature fusion of dreamgaze and nu-metal by layering hazy guitars with dreamy, distorted vocals. The track explores the emotional complexities of resolution, with Trxy! explaining, “The only way of letting go is by accepting.”
The album’s thematic foundation is explicit. Trxy! shares:
“I was feeling an overwhelming amount of depression at the time and wanted to express that through this album.”
