Technicolor Blood returns with their heaviest trip yet on Evolution Now

Montreal’s fuzz-drenched psych rockers Technicolor Blood make a thunderous return with Evolution Now, their second release and most fully realized effort to date.
Produced by: Technicolor Blood
Following a self-titled 12-inch EP that dropped in the middle of the pandemic, Technicolor Blood has found its stride with Evolution Now, a nine-track LP that clocks in just under 38 minutes. The album dives headfirst into the band’s fusion of heavy psych effects, tremolo-driven chaos, and cosmic synth work, sounding like a warped collision of Hawkwind and Chrome. Sometimes aggressive, sometimes soaring, the record captures the band at their most deliberate and immersive—an interstellar voyage filtered through blown-out amps and analog hardware.
Out via Le Backstore Records, Evolution Now is available in a limited edition of 200 black vinyl copies and 100 translucent orange variants, the latter housed in alternate screen-printed artwork. Distribution is handled by FAB Distribution in Canada and Midheaven/Revolver in the rest of the world.
Evolution Now delivers on the promise of those early records with a denser, more focused trip through space and sound—an LP that proves Technicolor Blood is only just beginning its voyage.
Standout Songs: ‘Crash Program,’ ‘Planet Square,” “Mischief of Rats,’ and ‘The Watcher.’
