French trio Tapeworms have released their second album Grand Voyage, out now via Music Website (NYC) and Japan’s P-Vine.

Produced by: Tapeworms

Born out of lockdown-era reinvention and shaped by the band’s current stay in Japan, Grand Voyage departs from Tapeworms’ previous shoegaze roots in favor of a glittering, hyper-processed blend of dream-pop, Gacha Pop, French electro-house, and Shibuya-kei textures. The result is a dopamine-charged 42-minute trip through nostalgia and neon-tinted futurism—evoking sixth-gen video games, over-compressed club pop, and bittersweet interludes stitched together with FM synths and Casio melodies.

Margot Magnière and brothers Théo and Elliot Poyer began writing the album during a time of physical distance, which led to an experimental approach to their compositions. Relying on budget samplers and children’s keyboards, they explored new textures and forms, transforming their sound into something more dynamic and immersive. Across 12 tracks—from the pulsating ‘IRL’ to the effervescent ‘Love & Pop’—Grand Voyage weaves together themes of emotional displacement, longing, and transformation, all while reflecting the surreal beauty of airports, train stations, and liminal spaces.

With Grand Voyage, Tapeworms have crafted a lush, futuristic popified soundscape that feels personal and expansive—a soundtrack for daydreams, transitions, and those moments in between—where everything feels possible.

Standout Songs: ‘Window Seat,’ ‘IRL,’ ‘Safe and Sound,’ and ‘Playground.’

Release Date: April 11, 2025
