Den Haag-based producer Sjoerd Huissoon steps out on his own with SYIRD EP, a self-released debut under his new solo moniker, SYIRD.

Produced by: Sjoerd Huissoon

Known for his work as one-half of the Dutch electronic duo Amy Root, Sjoerd brings years of experience and a restless creative spirit to his latest project. His SYIRD EP, out April 25, 2025, is a six-track showcase of genre-blending precision—melding deep house, techno, and jungle with acoustic textures and pop leanings. It’s a dynamic, nostalgia-infused record that introduces a more personal side to the producer, who has previously shaped the sounds of acts like Dragonfruit and Huize Lucas.

Across the EP, Sjoerd’s meticulous production skills are on full display. Tracks like ‘Today’ featuring DIDI and ‘My’ with Sleeper Agent offer moments of warmth and clarity amidst pulsing, dancefloor-ready beats. From the ambient introduction of ‘Hello’ to the rhythmically rich closer ‘Syird,’ the EP serves as both a statement of identity and a playground for sonic exploration.

With SYIRD, Sjoerd Huissoon carves out a distinct voice in the electronic landscape, balancing technical prowess with emotional resonance—an impressive debut that feels both intimate and expansive.
