German band Scott Evil makes a bold entrance with Big Dipper, a debut album filled with shoegaze textures, emo intensity, and DIY urgency, out now via Spinda Records.

Produced by: Felix Margraf

Following a string of well-received EPs and the recent singles ‘Circles’ and ‘Pizzazz,’ Scott Evil releases their long-awaited first full-length Big Dipper. Rooted in shoegaze and dream-pop and infused with alternative rock and post-hardcore energy, the album delivers 11 tracks that explore chaos, vulnerability, and catharsis, all filtered through a Midwest emo lens. Referencing the sonic palettes of DIIV, Wolf Alice, American Football, and My Bloody Valentine, the record captures an unfiltered, generational perspective on emotion and self-reflection.

The band, active since 2018, recorded Big Dipper at Karnak, a self-managed venue in Kassel, Germany. Produced by Felix Margraf and mastered by Bill Henderson of Azimuth Mastering, the album embodies the same DIY spirit that has guided Scott Evil’s path through the Central European underground scene. The artwork was created by band members Julia Walerus and Philipp Koronowski, underscoring the group’s hands-on approach.

Available in digital, CD, and vinyl formats—including a limited run of 150 black and 150 transparent lavender vinyl editions via Backpack Records—Big Dipper captures the essence of Scott Evil: raw, reflective, and ready to leave a mark.

Standout Songs: ‘Cop Cab,’ ‘Cheezy,’ ‘Barbed wire,’ ‘Redwoods,’ and ‘Pizzazz.’
