Minnesota-based singer and songwriter Runo Plum unveils her debut album patching, out November 14, 2025 via Winspear (home to Wishy, Teethe, and Slow Pulp). Co-produced by Lutalo, the 12-track LP offers a deeply personal collection of songs that chronicle heartbreak, healing, and rebirth through a lens of soft-edged indie rock and folk-inspired introspection.

Produced by: Lutalo Jones & Runo plum

Across patching, Runo Plum explores the dualities of love and loss, balancing melancholy with an undercurrent of resilience. The record’s sound is both handcrafted and expansive, pairing acoustic warmth with delicate layers of electric guitars, subtle percussion, and ethereal vocal harmonies. The guitar and the easeful warmth of Runo’s voice create an atmosphere that’s grounded and dreamlike, inviting listeners into her process of mending.

From the start, the album feels confessional and cinematic. ‘Sickness’ leads with propulsive rhythm and anxious reflection, portraying unhealthy cycles. ‘Lemon Garland’ daydreams of community through lush 12-string arrangements. ‘Halfway Up The Lawn’ exposes breakup desperation—“I don’t wanna watch you turn green, but I will,” she sings honestly. Later, ‘Elephant’ and ‘Locket’ turn introspective, while ‘Be Gentle With Me’ threads heartbreak and hope, echoing the intimacy of Julia Jacklin and Big Thief.

Runo states:

“Every song is an emotional fragment during my healing process patched together into one project, while I was also patching myself together in real time. You can feel the damage, but also the repair. The slowing down in order to move forward, and the dreaming of a time where I’m finally free from the dread.”

Throughout patching, Runo Plum uses her songwriting as an act of reconstruction—one that turns emotional fragmentation into art. On ‘Gathering The Pieces’ Runo sums up the record’s purpose with clarity and grace when she sings, “gathering the pieces of what I have left from before / time to get patching.” It’s a debut that doesn’t just chronicle healing—it enacts it.
