Pearly Drops return with their third full-length album, The Voices Are Coming Back, out August 29 via Music Website, blending surreal storytelling with dreamy, introspective pop.

Produced by: Pearly Drops

On The Voices Are Coming Back, Helsinki duo Sandra Tervonen and Juuso Malin transport listeners from their native Finland to the peculiar glamour of Los Angeles. The album follows Hollywood hopefuls navigating fantasy, ambition, and identity, wrapped in Pearly Drops’ misty, synth-laden soundscapes. Opener ‘Delusional On Sunset Boulevard’ sets the tone with Tervonen’s elfin vocals gliding over strobing synths and lush chords, while collaborators including Cub Sport and Tatiana Bruening contribute textures that enrich the record’s narrative depth. From mystical mermaids in sewers to walks through the Silver Lake forests, the album is both a fantastical journey and a deeply personal exploration of burnout, ambition, and self-discovery.

“At its heart, this album is about the emotional unraveling that can happen when you chase a dream too hard—when fantasy and ambition start to bleed into your sense of identity. We used the idea of the “Hollywood dream” as a narrative frame, but really, it’s a metaphor for the deeper psychological shifts that come with longing and disillusionment. It’s about getting lost—not just in a place, but in yourself…The album isn’t just storytelling—it’s autofiction. The characters, the landscapes, the dream logic—they’re all extensions of our personal experiences as artists navigating uncertainty, burnout, and ambition in a world that’s constantly shifting.”

The Voices Are Coming Back sees Pearly Drops offer a striking blend of introspection, narrative imagination, and experimental pop craftsmanship. It’s an album that invites repeated listening, revealing new layers of emotion and surreal storytelling with each spin.
