Australian artist JVLY (pronounced July) brings his cinematic and emotionally rich vision full circle with the release of his new five-track EP, SUNDER, out now.

Produced by: JVLY

The project arrives after months of intrigue, built up by a steady release of singles — ‘SOUTH,’ ‘LOCUM,’ ‘DROWNING IN MY ROOM,’ and ‘WALKED THE SUN’ — each offering glimpses into the larger narrative. Now with the addition of its final track, ‘IT’S FINE / SOJU ON THE MOON,’ the EP reveals itself as a complete and deliberate cycle.

Described by JVLY as a “concept record,” SUNDER is intended to play on an infinite loop — its last track connecting directly back to the first. Thematically, it captures the cycles of thought and emotion we often find ourselves trapped in, a throughline that’s supported by seamless transitions and a consistently immersive mood. Drawing influence from visually intense films like Enter the Void and Requiem for a Dream, JVLY translates that same sense of inner tension and aesthetic cohesion into sound.

With its atmospheric textures, lyrical introspection, and carefully linked structure, SUNDER confirms JVLY’s place as a distinct and thoughtful voice in electronic-tinged R&B. It’s a work best experienced in one sitting — and then again.

JVLY explains his mindset around the project:

“It’s 5 songs that are all parts of a whole story. Each song links to the next, and the end of the last song links back to the start of the first, so it can play in an infinite loop. The theme came from the cycles we find ourselves in—the situations, stages, and mental states we move through over time.”

SUNDER is out now.
