Brighton-based queer glam-punk trio Jopy have unleashed their debut EP, Planet Zombie, via Goo Records.

Produced by: Jo Parnell

Planet Zombie is a fantastical celebration of self-expression, blending macabre themes with playful energy. Frontwoman Jo Parnell, who recorded and produced the EP herself, uses her experiences as a trans woman to craft a world of vampires, ghosts, and zombie-baristas, all wrapped up in wild, theatrical narratives. From the snarling opener ‘Head Hunters Pub and Grub’ to the darkly romantic ‘Graveyard Romance,’ each track showcases Jopy’s ability to fuse the bizarre with the relatable. Jo’s Marc Bolan-esque vocals, combined with gritty guitars and synth-heavy punk beats, bring this chaotic and imaginative world to life.

The six tracks are both light-hearted and deeply personal, balancing deviant joy with underlying themes of finding one’s place in the world. As Jo explains, “I wrote these songs to create a light hearted sense of escape for listeners, they are rooted in real experiences.”

With Planet Zombie, Jopy proves that their blend of glam-punk and camp horror is more than just fun — it’s a way to process and celebrate identity in all its glorious weirdness. This EP is a must-listen for anyone who loves their punk with a side of ghoulish theatrics and a whole lot of heart.
