Choses Sauvages Ignite Dance-Punk Energy on Choses Sauvages III

Montreal’s Choses Sauvages return with their latest album, Choses Sauvages III, a 30-minute whirlwind of dance-punk, new wave, and disco-infused energy that showcases the band at their most raw and electrifying.
Produced by: Choses Sauvages
The Montréal’s dance-punk outfit has made a name for themselves over the years with spiky post-punk, evident in previous singles like ‘Incendie au paradis’ and ‘En joue.’ Their latest record builds upon these foundations, delivering a pulsating sonic experience that is as urgent as it is immersive. The album’s lead single, ‘Cours toujours,’ embodies this energy with a hypnotic groove, eerie whistling motif, and introspective lyricism. Frontman Félix Bélisle describes the track as “a new wave-inspired track about self-reflection. It feels as if one identifies a problem at the core of their being without being able to explain it.”
Beyond its propulsive rhythms, Choses Sauvages III tackles weighty themes, with ‘Incendie au paradis’ exploring the increasing presence of AI and ‘En joue’ confronting global violence and dehumanization. The album balances these serious themes with a vibrant, almost euphoric energy, making it both thought-provoking and deeply danceable.
Félix Bélisle says of the album:
“I think it’s the closest we’ve ever been to making a record sound like we imagined it, and self-producing the album gave it a rawer sound, a less clean aesthetic, closer to the live shows. Now the goal is to make this album find its way to people’s ears all around the world. It always takes a little longer for French-Canadian music to make its way outside the French speaking countries. It’s been hard work to make it happen but here we are, finally ready.”
With a reputation for incendiary live performances and a growing international following, Choses Sauvages III highlights the band’s relentless drive and artistic vision. Give it a listen. You may just like it.
