Um, Jennifer? dive into the void with ‘Old Grimes’
Last month, Um, Jennifer? announced their highly anticipated debut album, Um Comma Jennifer Question Mark, set for release on April 25, 2025, via Final Girl Records. With the album on the horizon, the enigmatic duo—Fig Regan and Elijah Scarpati—has unveiled another preview in the form of their new single, ‘Old Grimes.’
‘Old Grimes’ offers a striking departure from the band’s usual high-energy sound, trading their sharp edges for a slow-burning, reverb-soaked waltz that feels like teetering on the edge of oblivion. The track opens with Scarpati’s haunting vocals, setting the stage for a push-and-pull between nostalgia and impending doom. The bass and drums swell with intensity, threatening to swallow everything whole before pulling back—only to strike again.
