Tycho shares two new singles, ‘Devices’ and ‘Green’
2X GRAMMY Award-nominated Tycho has released two new songs from the highly anticipated album, Infinite Health via Mom + Pop / Ninja Tune.
Showcasing the breadth of mood and nuance on this intimate and heartfelt new album, Tycho has released two new singles. Originally written for a film soundtrack, ‘Devices’ ultimately found its place on Tycho’s upcoming album. The song evokes Hansen’s early days in downtown Sacramento in the late ‘90s, when he fell in love with electronic music. ‘Devices’ references his first trance-centric synths, while ‘Green’ is a downtempo piece of personal significance, evoking the American River in California where Hansen grew up. Hansen describes ‘Green’ and ‘Devices’ as conceptual bookends of the album, representing the struggle to stay connected to nature and humanity in the modern world.
Hansen adds:
“‘Green’ and ‘Devices’ represent the conceptual bookends of the forthcoming album, Infinite Health. ‘Green’ is an elegy to my childhood where I spent my youth forging a deep connection with nature. ‘Devices’ represents the struggle to stay connected to nature and our own humanity in the modern world. I wanted to illustrate this tension with a set of sonically contrasting songs.”
‘Devices’ and ‘Green’ are out now. Infinite Health will be released on August 30, 2024, via Mom + Pop. Pre-orders are available now.
