‘Huey’ offers an intimate glimpse into Tuxis Giant’s next chapter

Tuxis Giant have released their tender and emotionally resonant new single ‘Huey,’ taken from their forthcoming album You Won’t Remember This, due August 15 via Worry Bead Records. Alongside the track, the band has also shared an innovative interactive music video, coded and directed by bassist Fenn Macon, that deepens the song’s message of vulnerability and connection.
‘Huey’ unfolds as a soft-spoken anthem grounded in the quiet, everyday moments that hold surprising emotional weight—riding the bus, waiting for a text, or singing through tears to Huey Lewis at a local karaoke bar. Matt O’Connor’s vocals, surrounded by gentle guitar lines and a steady pulse, reflect the power of embracing small joys amidst the wear of daily life. “Karaoke at our favourite bar / I wanna sing away my cares,” they sing, echoing the song’s central tension between pain and playfulness.
O’Connor says:
“One of the first songs we wrote for this album. When the day-to-day wears you down, it’s the small, simple joys that save you – Narragansett beers at your favourite bar, singing Huey Lewis songs. Crying at karaoke is a little sad, a little funny. But it’s that kind of vulnerability that gives us our humanity.”
The accompanying interactive video brings that feeling to life through a digital reimagining of a familiar Allston bar, built in wireframe using Three.js. Macon, a member of creative collective Allston Web Services, crafted the experience to mirror the song’s emotional landscape—capturing both the warmth of community and the precariousness of memory and loss. It’s part film, part game, inviting viewers into a stylized, glitchy reality where nostalgia and present emotion coexist.
‘Huey’ is out now. You Won’t Remember This is due for release on August 15 via Worry Bead Records.
