Chicago noise-pop duo This House is Creaking (THiC) has unveiled their latest single, ‘2 LAMP (lava lamp),’ a cathartic track that blends distortion, fuzzed-out guitar, and unpredictable twists with the band’s signature catchy edge.

Written after bandmates Ehmed Nauman and Micah Miller moved into a new apartment together, the single marks a fresh chapter in both their creative process and personal lives. The track captures a moment of rebirth and reflection, embodying the turbulence of leaving behind old habits and embracing a new beginning. Building on their eclectic influences—from 90s alt-rock to electronic experimentation—’2 LAMP (lava lamp)’ expands the sonic range heard on their recent album I Want To Feel At Home Here.

This House is Creaking states:

“The first song we wrote after moving from our old apartment, where our first two records were written and recorded. An extremely cathartic song about cleansing yourself of old habits, relationships, mental blockades, whatever it may be, and starting fresh while letting those experiences inform your future self. Sometimes you just have to stare into a lava lamp.”

‘2 LAMP (lava lamp)’ follows their September support slot with Hotline TNT and comes ahead of a sold-out performance with Water From Your Eyes on October 2 at Chicago’s Sleeping Village.
