Scottish indie artist Theo Bleak returns with her final single ahead of her upcoming EP, Bad Luck Is Two Yellow Flowers, arriving May 15, 2025, via Polymoon.

The track, ‘Said Like A Poet,’ is a sharp and emotionally layered piece that delves into the complexities of intellect versus emotion. Bleak’s dreamlike instrumentation and poetic lyricism are on full display, as the song questions the depth and limitations of language—even when ideas are beautifully expressed. Co-written with Mark Johnston, Megan McNally, and Dan Gautreau, the track balances introspective vulnerability and haunting melodies.

Theo Bleak shares:

“‘Said Like A Poet’ is a scathing look at how much I idealize intellect, even though I’m entirely emotionally driven. I think ideas can be beautifully written between people, but ultimately, there are concepts that lack properness—regardless of how pretentiously you write them out. I wrote this song about very human things, things I wish I knew how to ask for.”

With ‘Said Like A Poet,’ Theo Bleak adds another compelling chapter to her growing discography, offering listeners an intricate portrait of emotional honesty wrapped in atmospheric sound.
