The Thing returns with double A-side ahead of self-titled album

NYC-based rock outfit The Thing return with a fiery double A-side—’Something to Say’ and ‘Insane’—marking the final preview of their forthcoming self-titled album The Thing, out August 6 via Onion Records.
‘Something to Say’ lands with an effortless, fuzz-wrapped punch. Rooted in vintage tones but executed with fresh conviction, the track is a retro-fitted anthem about having a voice and using it.
On the flip side, ‘Insane’ is chaos incarnate. Originally derailed by a broken tape machine and shaped by late-night spirals, the track doubles as both a sonic fever dream and an emotional post-mortem of a fractured relationship. Frontman Zane Acord notes it was inspired by “a bad end to a situationship,” and the song’s unhinged vibe echoes that sentiment with raw authenticity.
‘Something to Say’ and ‘Insane’ are out now.
