The Reds Pinks and Purples, the San Francisco–based indie pop project led by Glenn Donaldson, have released their new single ‘Heaven of Love’ ahead of the forthcoming album Acknowledge Kindness, due April 24 via Fire Records.

‘Heaven of Love’ introduces the emotional core of Acknowledge Kindness, pairing Donaldson’s melodic indie pop instincts with a tone that leans more openly toward warmth and idealism. Built around chiming guitars and a buoyant melodic framework, the track strikes a balance between reflection and forward motion, framing vulnerability through clean, understated production. While rooted in Donaldson’s long-standing late-’80s-inspired indie pop approach, the song feels intentionally lighter in spirit, signaling a shift from the heavier melancholy of previous releases while retaining the project’s introspective lyrical focus.

Glenn Donaldson says:

“This album is probably about learning to live with your ghosts and trying to be alive in the present. There’s a certain kind of big-sounding record I aspire to make, like California by American Music Club or 16 Lover’s Lane by The Go-Betweens, works that steer into the pain but become a transportational device for the listener.”

‘Heaven of Love’ is available now on all streaming platforms.
