The Maine turn intimate reflection into a full-on anthem on ‘Quiet Part Loud’
The Maine have released their new single ‘Quiet Part Loud’ out now, offering another preview of their tenth studio album Joy Next Door, due April 10 via Photo Finish Records. The track follows the previously unveiled ‘Die To Fall’ as the band prepares for their long-awaited 2026 headline tour, kicking off in March.
‘Quiet Part Loud’ centers on intimacy and urgency, pairing martial drums with an enchanting vocal effect that drives its pulsating, almost therapeutically close atmosphere. “Talk to me just like there’s no one around,” John O’Callaghan pleads, underscoring the song’s confessional tone. Written and recorded in sequential order as part of Joy Next Door, the single reflects the album’s emphasis on storytelling and organic instrumentation, with imperfections intentionally left intact. The forthcoming LP marks the band’s tenth studio release and introduces what they describe as their green era.
John O’Callaghan states:
“Some songs take months or years to write, and some take hours. This one came together quickly out of necessity, because time is sometimes not on your side. With that notion in mind…say what you want while you still can.”
Pat Kirch (drums) says:
“Every album of ours has a color that represents it, and Joy Next Door is the green era. The green grass on the album art feels like it matches perfectly with the organic instrumentation and imperfections left intact on the album.”
‘Quiet Part Loud’ is out now. Joy Next Door arrives April 10 and will be available on all streaming platforms.
