The Holy Knives return with ‘Manipulator,’ a bold and defiant single from their upcoming Jamie Hince-produced EP, I Don’t Wanna Win, set for release on December 13.

Blending elements of rock, desert psychedelia, and Texas-inspired chopped and screwed beats, ‘Manipulator’ captures the dark allure The Holy Knives are known for. The song delves into the pervasive presence of manipulation in all its forms—whether from friends, lovers, or societal forces.

Kody Valentine explains:

“There are a lot of manipulators out there trying to sell you a message, a product, trying to change who you are. There are manipulative lovers, manipulative friends, manipulative politicians–they can be anywhere. I’ve been manipulated by a few people in my life who I won’t name, but this song is really just a fuck you to them and manipulators everywhere.”

With I Don’t Wanna Win just around the corner, ‘Manipulator’ offers a tantalizing glimpse into the ambitious artistry The Holy Knives continue to deliver.
