Swapmeet debut ‘I Know!’ after signing to Winspear
Swapmeet announces their signing to Winspear and releases their new single ‘I Know!’ ahead of their US debut at South by Southwest in March. The South Australia four-piece share the track as their latest release following their 2024 EP Oxalis.
Revved up with gleaming, fuzzy guitars and energetic percussion, ‘I Know!’ blurs jangle pop, shoegaze, and alt-rock with a tongue-in-cheek precision that reflects the band’s early love of 90s alternative influences such as Pavement and Sonic Youth. The single carries a cathartic and buoyant tone, pairing off-the-cuff origins with tightly wound instrumentation. Built around bright guitar textures and a driving rhythm, the song captures the group’s live energy, which has become central to their growing profile in Australia.
O’Broin says of the track:
“I Know! was written accidentally – a song arising from an in-between practice jam. Unlike the other songs on the album, this song kind of wrote itself. The lyrics alike arose pretty spontaneously too, without much over-analysing or fluff. I Know! I Know! I Know! You know?”
The band will make their US debut at SXSW with performances scheduled for March 13 at Valhalla, March 16 at Hotel Vegas, and March 17 at Mohawk in Austin.
