Transatlantic indie-rock trio Sunday (1994) returns with their latest single ‘Rain,’ a romantic and cinematic standout that deepens their reputation as one of 2025’s most compelling new acts.

Released via Arista Records, ‘Rain’ builds on the evocative world Sunday (1994) continuing their sonic exploration of bittersweet nostalgia and dreamlike storytelling. Layered with cascading guitar textures and soft, hypnotic percussion, ‘Rain’ recalls the dream-pop haze of bands like Mazzy Star and My Bloody Valentine. At its heart is singer Paige Turner’s ethereal delivery, recounting a love that defies boundaries — even prison bars — with striking lyrics like, “I love you from the slammer to heaven / If we’re drinking in bars or if we’re living behind them.”

The band describes the track as “a devotion so deep it borders on doom, where love clings to the wreckage of crime and consequence. If fate demands suffering, then let it be shared; whether in a lover’s arms or behind prison bars.” It’s a theme that fits naturally into the group’s expanding catalog of emotionally rich, cinema-inspired indie rock.

Following a breakout year supporting acts like girl in red and Phantogram, Sunday (1994) is set to embark on its first-ever headlining run, aptly titled the debut tour. Kicking off April 24th in San Francisco, the extensive U.S. and U.K. trek will include festival appearances in the Netherlands and notable stops in New York, London, and Los Angeles. The tour celebrates their recent momentum and the May 2024 release of their deluxe debut EP, which includes fan favorites like ‘Blossom,’ ‘Softly,’ and ‘Blonde.’
