Somebody’s Child release new single ‘Time Of My Life’ from upcoming album When Youth Fades Away
Irish indie-rock project Somebody’s Child, led by Cian Godfrey, has released ‘Time Of My Life,’ the lead single from their highly anticipated second album, When Youth Fades Away, set for release on March 28, 2025, via Frenchkiss Records.
Following the success of their self-titled debut album and acclaimed live performances alongside The War on Drugs and Kings of Leon, ‘Time Of My Life’ marks a new chapter for Somebody’s Child. The track brings a mature sound, blending their signature indie rock with reflective, autobiographical lyrics that delve into the fleeting nature of life and legacy. Written at the end of the album’s recording process, the song is driven by two chords and embodies a nostalgic yet cathartic energy.
Godfrey explains:
“It’s about the flashing of life before your eyes, ending in a feeling of resolve, leaving legacy through songs and accepting fate. It was one of the most cathartic songs we’ve ever written.”
Accompanied by a music video co-directed by Adrian Lee and Godfrey, ‘Time Of My Life’ stars rising Dublin actress Caroline Menton. Inspired by Trainspotting and Skins, the video captures the song’s raw energy and reflects Godfrey’s passion for film, a powerful visual narrative set to enhance the single’s introspective themes.
