Somebody’s Child unveils electrifying final single ‘Porcelain (Losing All My Patience)’ ahead of new album

With just weeks to go before the release of their sophomore album When Youth Fades Away, Somebody’s Child drops their final preview in the form of ‘Porcelain (Losing All My Patience),’ a dynamic fusion of pulsating electronic elements and emotive rock energy.
Building on the success of previous singles ‘Time of My Life,’ ‘Last Night I Held Your Hand,’ and ‘Irish Goodbye,’ this latest release continues the band’s sonic expansion. Hypnotic, monotonal verses contrast sharply with an ethereal, falsetto-laced chorus, reflecting the album’s overarching theme of how time reshapes relationships. With production by Grammy Award-winner Peter Katis (The National, Frightened Rabbit, Death Cab for Cutie), the single embodies the creative risk-taking that has come to define When Youth Fades Away.
Speaking on the single vocalist and bandleader Cian Godfrey said:
“Porcelain was the breakthrough track for us determining the shape of the record. When it was written, everything else seemed to fall into place around it. It embodies the danceability we were going for throughout, and to me, it evokes a necessity to get up and move. I remember somebody once calling it ‘rave-rock’, which I liked.”
With When Youth Fades Away arriving on March 28th, the band is gearing up for an extensive run of live shows. They kick things off with a series of sold-out in-store performances across the UK, followed by a full German tour and festival appearances, including Golden Touch Festival, Traumzeit, Rock Werchter, and Y Not Festival.
‘Porcelain (Losing All My Patience)’ is out now. When Youth Fades Away arrives March 28th via Frenchkiss Records.
