Led by Francis Mallari of Rendez-Vous, French shoegaze/rock band SCHØØL has released their latest single ‘The End,’ a dark yet reflective track from their upcoming debut album, set to arrive in early 2025.

New single, ‘The End’ delves into themes of disconnection and despair, telling the story of someone who no longer feels they belong in modern society. Despite the song’s heavy emotional weight, there’s a subtle undercurrent of hope, as the character holds on to “a little feeling” for life. The song’s melancholic tone and the atmospheric shoegaze production perfectly capture the complexity of these emotions, making ‘The End’ a powerful listen.

Accompanying the release is a video directed by Ludovic Azémar, filmed during a summer trip to Berlin. The video features intimate scenes of the band playing in drummer Alex Battez’s living room, wandering through Hasenheide Park with Lotta the dog, and guitarist Jack Moase joining in via laptop. The title design, charmingly created on a Nintendo DS, adds a personal touch to the visual experience.

‘The End’ is out now. Their upcoming debut album is set to arrive in early 2025.
