Montreal-based trio Population II continue their streak of genre-blurring psychedelia with their latest single, ‘Mariano (Jamais je ne t’oublierai),’ a magnetic preview of their upcoming album Maintenant Jamais, set for release on March 28 via Bonsound.

Following the well-received ‘Le thé est prêt,’ ‘Mariano (Jamais je ne t’oublierai)’ builds on Population II’s reputation for intricate, atmospheric compositions. The track is a layered sonic journey, weaving fuzz-drenched guitars with pulsating drums and sweeping synthesizers. Its blend of krautrock precision and psychedelic pop textures underscores the band’s refined approach on Maintenant Jamais, an album produced with the help of Dominic Vanchesteing (Marie Davidson). While their signature raw power remains intact, this new material exhibits a deeper, more nuanced sense of sonic exploration.

‘Mariano (Jamais je ne t’oublierai)’ is available now on your favorite DSP.
