Miami indie rockers Mustard Service have dropped its latest single, ‘Going Nowhere,’ a vibrant and introspective track that blends upbeat melodies with lyrics about shared self-destruction.

Known for their self-coined “zest pop” sound, the band pulls from rock, jazz, surf, funk, and Latin influences to create music that’s both sonically eclectic and emotionally resonant. ‘Going Nowhere’ is no exception. Driven by a melodic guitar solo and a Beatles-esque chorus, the track radiates warmth even as it navigates darker emotional territory. The combination of lively instrumentation and introspective lyrics—“Heaven and hell combine, making the sweetest wine / I’m going nowhere, are you coming with me?”—creates a bittersweet tone that lingers long after the song fades out.

The band explains:

“Going nowhere is about not only indulging in the awareness of one’s self-destructive tendencies but inviting somebody else into it.”

The single sets the stage for the band’s forthcoming album Vice City Magic, due July 18, and teases the emotional depth and sonic richness fans can expect from the full release.
