Mustard Service explores tension and communication on new single ‘Conversation Overtime’

Miami-based indie rock trio Mustard Service has released its new single ‘Conversation Overtime,’ a track that captures the emotionally charged space where communication teeters on the edge of conflict.
Blending its “zest pop” sound—which pulls from rock, surf, jazz, funk, bossa nova, and their Latin heritage—the band delivers a mellow yet emotionally potent track. ‘Conversation Overtime’ explores the uneasy moment when a conversation stops being productive and begins to unravel. Produced and engineered by Chad Copelin (Wilderado, Broncho, Avril Lavigne, Sasha Sloan), the song features velvet-smooth vocals, plucky guitars, and a flowing melody that glides between easygoing charm and emotional weight.
The band shares:
“At what point does a discussion become an argument? We (Mustard Service) call this point the conversation overtime. A point of escalation in which neither party can continue arguing in good faith and communication devolves into either a shouting match or an avoidant cold shoulder, both equally uncomfortable.”
‘Conversation Overtime’ is out now.
