Mustard Service’s ‘Big Time’ shines with zesty indie rock flair

Miami-based indie rock trio Mustard Service dropped their latest single, ‘Big Time,’ delivering a vibrant track.
‘Big Time’ is a lyrically rich exploration of personal growth, overcoming struggles, and shedding toxicity, wrapped in the band’s “zest pop” sound. This self-described genre blends rock, surf, jazz, funk, and bossa nova with Cuban, Uruguayan, Argentinian, and Mexican influences, creating a sun-soaked, feel-good vibe. Produced and engineered by Chad Copelin—known for his work with Wilderado, Broncho, Avril Lavigne, and Sasha Sloan—the single features jangly guitars, a bouncy bassline, and vocals reminiscent of The Strokes’ infectious energy. The result is a catchy, carefree melody that’s effortlessly cool and primed for repeat listens.
The band confides:
“This song is basically about cutting off a friend who you really love – but you know you have to cut them off or else you’re gonna drown with them. It explores how sad it is having to come to terms with the fact that you have to let them go and grieving that relationship.”
‘Big Time’ is now available on your favorite DSP.
