MF Tomlinson shares intimate new single ‘My Hand In Yours’ ahead of new album Die To Wake Up From A Dream

The slowcore-folk gem offers the final preview of his highly anticipated LP, out July 11 via PRAH Recordings.
MF Tomlinson unveils ‘My Hand In Yours,’ the final single from his forthcoming album Die To Wake Up From A Dream, set for release on July 11, 2025, via PRAH Recordings. The new track arrives alongside the announcement of fresh UK tour dates this autumn, with shows confirmed in Brighton, Manchester, Cardiff, Bristol, and Leeds.
The track unfolds with gentle pedal steel and hushed banjo, drawing listeners into a world of stillness and connection. Featuring Jacken Elswyth (Shovel Dance Collective), the track channels the atmospheric depth of Mazzy Star and the emotional precision of Bill Callahan. It’s a love song at its core, capturing the quiet profundity of intimacy shared in the every day—holding hands, being led, and finding meaning in companionship.
Tomlinson explains:
“My wife once told me about an exercise where you close your eyes and let someone lead you down the street to understand what it’s like to be blind. We lived on Amhurst Road, across from Hackney Central, and tried it one Saturday on our way into town. You can picture that while listening for some added comedy.
“It struck me that often, that’s all we’re ever doing – following the path of a friend, a companion, someone we love. How in most ways, it’s the only path we ever need. So yeah it’s a love song pure and simple – it still chokes me up! Jacken Elswyth (of herself and of Shovel Dance Collective) plays the banjo at the end. I’m a Jacken stan and feel truly honoured to have her on this — the way she plays lifts the whole thing somewhere new, especially with the birdsong in there too (I feel it gives the ending a little of Jim O’Rourke’s ‘Halfway to a Threeway’).”
‘My Hand In Yours’ is out now. Die To Wake Up From A Dream is out July 11 via PRAH Recordings.
