London-based singer-songwriter MF Tomlinson returns with ‘Die To Wake Up From A Dream,’ the nine-minute title track from his upcoming third studio album, set for release on July 11 via PRAH Recordings.

Drawing sonic inspiration from John Martyn, Talk Talk, and My Bloody Valentine, ‘Die To Wake Up From A Dream’ builds from a steady pulse into a swirling crescendo of digital effects and distorted soundscapes. As Tomlinson recounts childhood dreams of monsters and the weariness of long days and nights, the song mirrors the overwhelming passage of time. Recorded live at London’s Café Oto, its final refrain offers a mix of dark humor and resilience, emphasizing the courage it takes to embrace life’s uncertainties.

Tomlinson explains:

“It speaks to the sensation of drowning in the years. Scenes flash by so fast we soon know that we are in a dream, then a nightmare.”

‘Die To Wake Up From A Dream’ marks the first glimpse into Tomlinson’s upcoming album, an intricate exploration of modern life’s complexities, blending folk, shoegaze, art-rock, and orchestral influences. Ahead of the album’s release, Tomlinson is supporting Melin Melyn on a string of UK dates, including stops in Birmingham, Brighton, London, and Cardiff.
