Max Blansjaar shares ‘Red Tiger,’ the final single from debut album False Comforts
‘Red Tiger’ is the third and final single from his eagerly anticipated debut album False Comforts, set to release on June 21st via Beanie Tapes.
Following the success of his previous singles, ‘Anna Madonna‘ and ‘Burning In Our Name,’ Max continues to captivate audiences with his distinctive blend of lo-fi charm and infectious melodies. Drawing inspiration from Beck, Courtney Barnett, and The Velvet Underground, ‘Red Tiger’ offers a glimpse into his introspective and sonically exploratory side. With its evocative lyrics and hypnotic melodies, the track invites listeners on a journey through Max’s intricate sonic landscape, where every note feels like a revelation.
Describing the origins of ‘Red Tiger,’ Max reflects:
“This is the oldest song on the album – I wrote it on a little Casio keyboard when I was seventeen. Then I forgot about it for a few years. The world seemed a wild place then, and it still does.
“It’s nice revisiting old songs because in some ways they’re kind of like time capsules, but in some other ways they’re as true as they always were, just their meaning has changed. I think it’s good for songs to make themselves open to mutation in that way. They can mean different things to different people, at different moments in their lives. The Red Tiger keeps moving, that’s what I say.”
With ‘Red Tiger,’ Max Blansjaar solidifies his position as a rising star in the indie pop landscape as he offers a tantalizing glimpse into the sonic world of False Comforts.
