Leyya swaps vulnerability for hedonistic self-assurance in new single ‘Pumped Up High’
Austrian duo Leyya returns with a vibrant new single, ‘Pumped Up High,’ now out via Minor Changes / Ink Music.
‘Pumped Up High,’ the latest single from internationally celebrated duo, consisting of Sophie Lindinger and Marco Kleebauer, offers a gritty insight into their highly anticipated third album, Half Asleep. ‘Pumped Up High’ exudes a buoyant electropop vibe with a hint of melancholy. The single captures the ambivalence of desiring solitude amid a crowd, inspired by the sensation of being at an open-air summer rave, where one can lose themselves in the atmosphere despite knowing no one.
The duo describes the essence of the track as:
“To be in the middle of a crowd, a club, a gathering—to be in it, but not part of it. The feeling of being included but without the urge to exchange conversations with other people. You could say ‘Pumped Up High’ is about the joy of not being perceived in an environment where you’re welcome.”
The forthcoming album, Half Asleep, is marked by self-reflection and inner turbulence. Written without preconceptions, the album draws inspiration from lived experiences, favorite songs and sounds, and the full spectrum of human emotion.
‘Pumped Up High’ is available now on your favorite DSP. Half Asleep is set for release on August 30th, 2024.
