With just days to go before the release of their highly anticipated debut album, as I watch my life online, rising indie trio late night drive home have dropped one last single, ‘day 2.’ Out now via Epitaph Records, the track offers a shimmering, late-night anthem about stepping out from behind the screen and reconnecting with the physical world—if only for a night.

‘day 2’ is a dance-floor-ready slice of digital-age romance, chronicling the simple yet profound act of meeting someone in real life and putting your phone away. Fueled by upbeat production and a hazy sense of wonder, the track finds the band at their most melodic and accessible while continuing their thematic deep dive into internet-era identity and intimacy. As the album’s final preview, ‘day 2’ sets the tone for the emotional complexity and sonic polish fans can expect when the full record drops June 27.

Singer Andre Portillo discusses the single:

“The waking from a long, emotional slumber that drags you from habituated responses to self-awareness in the modern age of online dating and hookup culture. The discovery of one person that changes your perception of what it’s like to be loved.”

On the debut album as I watch my life online the band shared:

“The record is a collection of different meta perspectives of our lives online. Sometimes you’re an observer from in front of the screen, sometimes you’re the one looking at people from the inside out.”

Produced by Sonny Diperri, the record promises to blend early-2000s indie nostalgia with a sharp, modern perspective—capturing the contradiction of growing up in public, and the anxiety of curating your identity through screens.

‘day 2’ is out now.
