Acclaimed avant-garde electronic pop artist Julia-Sophie issues glistening ‘wishful thinking’ single
The track arrives ahead of Friday’s forgive too slow album.
Released today, ‘wishful thinking’ is the glistening final single from forgive too slow, the debut solo album from Anglo-French avant-garde electronic artist Julia-Sophie. Following ‘numb’ and ‘telephone,’ ‘wishful thinking’ combines Julia-Sophie’s hushed and haunted vocal with pulsing and uplifting electronics to create something that perfectly balances the sentimental with the synthetic.
Here’s Julia-Sophie regarding the track:
“‘wishful thinking’ is about loving someone so deeply but realising that loving them isn’t enough. I know I’m not an easy person to be with, and loving me causes hurt, so sometimes I have to let someone go in order to stop hurting them. Once I’m alone, I’m left with the question: why is it so hard for me to love freely?”
‘Wishful Thinking’ is out now. forgive too slow is out Friday, July 26.
