JayWood searches for real connection on ‘UNTITLED (Swirl)’

JayWood returns with a soulful new standalone single, ‘UNTITLED (Swirl),’ out now alongside a video and just ahead of a U.S. tour supporting Tune-Yards.
Blending indie, soul, and R&B, ‘UNTITLED (Swirl)’ finds the Montreal-based artist continuing his sonic evolution with a track that feels equal parts laid-back and emotionally charged. Opening with the line “Don’t say you love me, under the sun,” JayWood lays the foundation for a song that calls out surface-level connection in a digital age. Warm tones and an uplifting chorus provide a breezy feel, but the lyrics dig into a desire for deeper, more meaningful relationships—beyond likes and DMs.
Speaking on the track, JayWood explains:
“It’s definitely a song about our relationship with phones and the false sense of connection it creates. I think throughout the song I’m asking for genuine connection and reaching out to friends trying to meet them where they’re at with energy and time.
Accompanied by a video co-directed with Laura-Lynn Petrick, ‘UNTITLED (Swirl)’ captures the transition from winter solitude to the warmth of reconnection—a visual reflection of the song’s message.
