Jay Hurtt VI rolls out effortless vibes with new single ‘Rollin’ Like Dice’

Hawaii-based singer/songwriter Jay Hurtt VI has released his second single, ‘Rollin’ Like Dice.’
Self-written, self-produced, and self-mixed, ‘Rollin’ Like Dice’ has a breezy, feel-good vibe, yet it was inspired by a whirlwind road trip with an ex.
Hurtt explains:
“I wrote this song about a road trip with my ex. While I was on tour, she landed a job as an executive assistant for a “big-time” Hollywood guy. We were in Charleston then, but she had “two weeks” to move. We met up at my final show in Atlanta and, with a friend, drove her Jeep cross-country, towing her life in a U-Haul. We made it to LA in four days, fueled by prescription amphetamines. I wrote and recorded the track in 40 minutes, sitting on her bed the night we finished moving her in.”
With ‘Rollin’ Like Dice,’ Jay Hurtt VI showcases his knack for creating music that blends the personal and universal. This second release points to a promising future for the newcomer, and for those curious, his first demo, ‘Red 7,’ is also available on Spotify.
