Holly Lawless steps forward with a fully independent single, ‘Behind That Closed Door’

Holly Lawless releases her new single ‘Behind That Closed Door,’ marking her first fully independent release. The acoustic indie folk track is self-recorded and self-produced, signaling a new chapter for the singer-songwriter as she takes full creative control of her music.
‘Behind That Closed Door’ centers on a stripped-back acoustic arrangement, highlighting Lawless’ songwriting and intimate vocal delivery. As an acoustic track, the production remains minimal and unembellished, allowing the lyrics and melody to carry the emotional weight.
Holly Lawless states:
“I wrote this song just after finishing the book Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom, which absolutely broke me. With tears streaming down my face I picked up the guitar and started writing. It’s a simple song about living and dealing with the grief of losing someone you love, but also contemplating what is beyond our lives and what happens to those no longer living it. And it’s also a special one for me as it’s the first song I’ve ever made completely independently, all written, arranged, recorded and produced by me in my bedroom. I hope it brings people comfort or just lets them sit in their feelings for a while.”
‘Behind That Closed Door’ is out now on your favorite DSP.
