Field Medic shares joyful single ‘Simply Obsessed’ ahead of album release
Field Medic has unveiled ‘Simply Obsessed,’ the final single from his forthcoming album surrender instead, arriving this Friday.
The track, accompanied by a self-directed music video, blends tape-deck beats with radiant melodies and an open-hearted delivery. ‘Simply Obsessed’ leans into Field Medic’s vulnerability, but with a refreshing sense of optimism. The song’s buoyant rhythm and sincere lyrics mark a return to the full-on love song form for LA-based singer-songwriter Kevin Patrick Sullivan.
“This song began as the opening lyrics & melody in my head while I was on a walk. It had been a long time since I wrote a full-on love song, which is something I used to really enjoy. I wanted to make a song that felt empowering to listen to and remind the audience that they’re deserving of love and of course stylish no matter what they choose to wear.”
‘Simply Obsessed’ is the third single from surrender instead, following the warmly received ‘castle peaks‘ and ‘MELANCHOLY.’ The new album marks a creative rebirth for Sullivan, following a brief hiatus from music in 2024, during which he turned inward to focus on healing and self-discovery. Now available for pre-order, surrender instead celebrates ten years since Field Medic’s debut LP, bringing his journey full circle with candid reflections and playful sonic touches.
