DONGROSSO—the collaborative project of MONDO GROSSO’s Shinichi Osawa and the duo DONGURIZU—release their newest single ‘NIPPON,’ a minimalist techno track steeped in Japanese cultural references and wabi-sabi aesthetics.
Serving as the advance single for their upcoming debut album ANTI SOCIAL SOUNDSYSTEM, ‘NIPPON’ pairs a subdued rap with hypnotic, stripped-down production. The track playfully references the Japanese concept of imperfection and impermanence, delivering a low-key yet imaginative take on cultural identity through dance music.
Accompanying the release is a fully AI-generated vertical music video, showcasing surreal and exaggerated imagery of Japan as it’s often perceived globally. The visuals further elevate the single’s offbeat sensibility, offering a unique take on how tradition and technology can intersect in modern music.
