daste. releases new single ‘Atlas’
Australian trio daste. return and deliver their third single of 2024, ‘Atlas.’
daste. have released their third single of 2024, ‘Atlas.’ As one of the initial tracks written for the upcoming album, Atlas the track serves as a key exploration of the record’s direction and emotional tone. The song delves into themes of struggle and disorientation, ultimately conveying a message of resilience and finding a way through difficult times.
Tyler Harden discusses the track:
“‘Atlas’ was one of the first songs we wrote that made it on the album. At the time we were still trying to figure out the direction and feeling of the new record. We had a really fun session where things just started moving immediately and everybody was throwing ideas around. We started writing about the stress and weight of life and how we deal with that struggle by metaphorically lifting and holding the weight of the world on our shoulders. I think the main message of this song is being able to struggle and lose grip on your world, but still having the ability to find your strength and pick it up again. We also loved the reference to the story of Atlas in Greek mythology, where he was condemned to hold up the sky and heavens for eternity.
“We feel like this song has such a presence, so we are very happy to be doing a music video and tour around it!”
‘Atlas’ is out now.
