Cursive shares new single ‘Imposturing’ from upcoming album Devourer
Cursive has released their latest single, ‘Imposturing,’ the third offering from their forthcoming album Devourer, due out September 13, 2024, via Run For Cover Records. The track is accompanied by a visually striking and campy video directed by the band’s frontman, Tim Kasher.
‘Imposturing’ showcases Cursive’s signature blend of jagged, yet infectious melodies, driven by a woozy synth line from the band’s Patrick Newbery. The song’s unsettling energy is matched by the video, which tells the story of a monster born from the insecurities of its creator.
Kasher elaborates:
“The overall conceit of ‘Imposturing’ is, ‘make it up as you go along,’ so I concocted a story of a monster seemingly made up from the insecurities of this main singer guy (me). Once fully formed, the monster goes on a rampage. We shot the video over a few days in Omaha, NE, in and around O’Leaver’s and The Admiral. Our practical effects were the product of various DIY YouTube tutorials.”
‘Imposturing’ is out now.
