Texan folk singer-songwriter Chance Peña returns with a soul-stirring new single, ‘Song From Yesterday,’ released today, April 18, 2025.
The track is a gentle yet powerful meditation on emotional distance and the slow, silent unraveling of a relationship. Anchored in acoustic, folk-tinged instrumentation, ‘Song From Yesterday’ finds Peña exploring spiraling thoughts and quiet discomfort when something once familiar begins to shift. His understated vocals and introspective lyrics create a moving, cathartic listening experience—honest and deeply resonant.
Produced by Peña and Jeremy Fedryk (aka Sarcastic Sounds), and co-written with Fedryk and artist/songwriter Hayd during a winter cabin retreat in Big Bear, the song takes its title from a moment of casual indecision that stuck.
Peña shares:
“One morning in the cabin I woke up with this line in my head, ‘I know you lie to keep me safe’ and Jeremy was working on something on the computer and we just started writing this in the living room. Hayd woke up a few minutes later and we had the song done not too long after. It’s just a song about overthinking and giving into your rejection issues, I guess. We couldn’t think of a name and just kept calling it the song from yesterday and that’s what stuck.”
‘Song From Yesterday’ follows his recent release ‘Good Love Die‘ and marks a continued evolution in Peña’s sound—intimate, emotionally transparent, and timeless.
