Singer-songwriter Cautious Clay drops his new single ‘Tokyo Lift (5am),’ a dreamy ode to late-night revelry and fleeting connection.

‘Tokyo Lift (5am),’ released alongside a video, welcomes listeners into a hazy, groove-soaked morning after a night of escapades. Built on lush production and reverbed vocals, the track blends Cautious Clay’s mix of pop precision and introspective songwriting. It’s a gentle yet magnetic reflection of a night that stretches into dawn, drenched in the kind of effortless cool that Cautious, aka Joshua Karpeh, has honed since his 2017 emergence.

Speaking on the new song, Cautious shares:

“‘Tokyo Lift (5am)’ is a song I wrote about a time I spent out at a karaoke bar until 5 AM. Karaoke for me is super hit or miss because it is completely dependent upon everyone leaning into their performances and people picking good songs. This particular night was perfect; the music was perfect, the drinks were flowing, and everyone was completely losing track of time. The energy and sonics of this song is something I really wanted to match the feeling of one of those nights.”

With ‘Tokyo Lift (5am)’ is out now.
