Big Black Delta shares new track ‘Uncertainty Is Delight’ ahead of upcoming album ADONAI
LA-based artist Johnathan Bates, known as Big Black Delta, has unveiled his new single ‘Uncertainty Is Delight’ as the lead track from his forthcoming album ADONAI, set for release on February 28, 2025.
‘Uncertainty Is Delight’ weaves a deeply philosophical narrative over atmospheric production, exploring themes of existential questioning and the nature of the soul’s journey. Bates has framed the song as a reflection on how life’s uncertainties are essential to the human experience, likening it to a rollercoaster ride one must learn to enjoy. The track’s hypnotic rhythms and electronic elements mirror the complexity of this emotional exploration, creating a soundscape that is both haunting and hopeful.
On the track, Bates states:
“What if? What if Earth is actually a school, of sorts, for the enrichment of one’s own Soul? A Soul knowing it is eternal, comes to Earth to learn limitations. It has to somehow harmonize the duality in front of masculine and feminine.
“Part of this experience includes a veil. This veil makes you forget your eternal being in a state outside of space-time while on Earth.
“It is cruel, but would be necessary for the illusion to work.
“This is why we can never know the future. So who do you want to be in this uncertainty?
“Somewhere in all of this, I believe we were intended to enjoy this uncertain experience much like we enjoy rollercoaster rides.
“Somewhere in all of this, we were convinced that only through action are you eligible for love. That’s fucking bullshit. You are loved. Fuck everything else. Everything else is semantics.”
