Beaming’s debut single ‘Slow Sinkin’ sets a wistful tone with Field Medic

Beaming, the fresh musical collaboration between Derek Ted and Braden Lawrence, has arrived with their debut single ‘Slow Sinkin,’ featuring Field Medic, marking an exciting entry into the indie scene.
Out now, the track introduces the duo’s blend of folk-pop melancholy and understated production. Derek Ted, a producer known for collaborating with artists like Dora Jar and Field Medic, teams up with Braden Lawrence, a veteran drummer of Philadelphia’s The Districts. The single, enriched by Field Medic’s guest vocals and slide guitar from Lawrence’s bandmate Pat Cassidy, carries a reflective vibe reminiscent of Hovvdy or early Alex G. It’s a song born from two separate ideas the duo fused together, resulting in an acoustic-leaning track that feels both organic and effortlessly melodic.
beaming say of the track:
“‘slow sinkin’ came from us combining two different ideas we’d been working on separately. Lyrically, it’s about looking back on the past and how easy it is to get caught up in your own BS. It’s our most acoustic track on the EP, and we wanted it to feel more natural and organic. We also got our buddy Field Medic to sing the third verse.”
‘Slow Sinkin’ is out now.
