Leeds electro-noise outfit Bathing Suits share ‘I Can Be A Freak’

Bathing Suits, the electrifying electro-noise outfit from Leeds, have dropped their boldest track yet with the release of ‘I Can Be A Freak.’
A thundering, dancefloor-ready anthem, ‘I Can Be A Freak’ channels the band’s fusion of blistering guitars, pulsing techno, and raw punk energy. Known for their mantra “Always dancey. Always loud. Always sexy,” the track captures everything that makes Bathing Suits a standout in the UK underground. Produced by DJ Subaru (a.k.a. Leeds/Berlin DJ and producer Benny Howell), the single is a high-octane reinterpretation of Estelle’s ‘Freak,’ repurposed into a snarling blend of synth-driven hooks and grinding feedback.
“‘I can be a freak’ came to me fast. It’s an energetic, noisy song about being downright nasty and weird (the meaning reinvents itself constantly). I wrote it using synthesisers for the melodies and sampling Freak by Estelle (love her and love that song) before bringing it to the band and developing it together. After playing this song together for monthsss we brang it to the studio with the best DJ and producer ever DJ Subaru who produced our previous single. #keepitfreaky.”
With ‘I Can Be A Freak,’ Bathing Suits continue to assert themselves as one of the most vital and exhilarating new acts in the UK noise and club crossover scene.
