Bagdad’s ‘Somewhere, Nowhere’ weaves nostalgia into a gritty rock lament

Polish alt-rock trio Bagdad has dropped ‘Somewhere, Nowhere,’ a compelling new single that offers a raw glimpse into their debut EP, They Don’t Know, slated for release on March 27, 2025, via Rite Field Records.
Out today, ‘Somewhere, Nowhere’ pairs soaring riffs with Franciszek Drobiński’s wistful vocals to create a sonic exploration of regret and farewells. Built on brightly toned guitars, the track reflects on a love that slipped away, delivering a memorable blend of emotional depth and gritty energy. Recorded in the summer of 2024, this single previews the nostalgic fusion of grunge and slowcore that defines Bagdad’s sound. As the second taste of their upcoming EP—following the brooding ‘Valley of Dry Bones‘—’Somewhere, Nowhere’ highlights the band’s distinctive Eastern European edge, setting the stage for a debut that promises both melancholy and catharsis.
Drobiński explains:
“‘Somewhere, Nowhere’ is a song that was in the making for quite a long time. I wrote the music in 2019, in my senior year of high school, and then completely forgot about it, leaving it somewhere among hundreds of other recordings in my voice memos. I unearthed it three years later and added the lyrics. It’s a simple song about a breakup, but it’s also the first song we worked on together as a band, so it’s quite special to us.”
‘Somewhere, Nowhere’ is out now.
