Astronomía Interior dives into the unconscious with ‘Abril’
The experimental project by Zoé’s Ángel Mosqueda and Jesús Báez returns with their latest single, ‘Abril.’
Blending atmospheric electronic elements with introspective lyricism, ‘Abril’ offers a thought-provoking dive into the realms of identity and perception. The track’s hauntingly poetic chorus—“Everything changes color/Coal black tree/Or is it just a dream?”—invites listeners to reflect on the interplay between premonition and projection. With its evocative imagery and layered production, ‘Abril’ continues the duo’s tradition of crafting immersive musical experiences.
“All our songs inhabit their own universe. This song is no exception, with strong and clear images that echo what appears in our minds when we have a premonition: do we fear it or are we just a projection of it?”
The accompanying video enhances the song’s mysterious allure, featuring María Ibarra navigating an old house filled with natural elements. As the protagonist’s journey unfolds, Mosqueda and Báez appear as silent witnesses, amplifying the sense of ambiguity between reality and imagination.
‘Abril,’ is out now.
