allie shares reflective title track ‘Every Dog’ ahead of upcoming album
New York City-based singer/songwriter and producer allie has released the title track from her forthcoming album Every Dog, set to drop on September 27.
Out now, ‘Every Dog’ is a thoughtfully crafted piece that delves into themes of self-exploration and emotional growth. The song blends harmonic melodies with introspective lyrics that reflect on the process of supporting an ex-lover while simultaneously learning about oneself. allie’s lyrical vulnerability shines through as she draws from her personal experiences and the influence of New York City, a pivotal force in the creation of the track.
“I understand ‘Every Dog’ to be a somewhat abstract representation of my own journey and the journeys of my loved ones, especially artist friends, to find solace in such a trying, chaotic environment here in NYC. Looking back, I think the song ‘Every Dog’ was a way for me to honor both the pain of necessary separation from beloved people who had once been very close to me, and also the sense of peace and acceptance I felt in knowing such decisions were made for the right reasons–out of love for the other and myself.”
The accompanying video, shot on the Long Island coastline, visually complements the song’s themes of reflection and connection. Directed by bassist Maxwell Zikakis, the video captures allie and her partner Caro, alongside a family friend’s dog, Älska, in a series of impressionistic and progressively playful scenes.
