Ray Bull lean into duality on new single ‘Please Stop Laughing’
Ray Bull’s electrifying new single ‘Please Stop Laughing’ has just dropped, arriving as the third single and title track from the New York-based duo’s hotly anticipated album, set for release on May 8th via AWAL.
On ‘Please Stop Laughing,’ Ray Bull—comprised of Aaron Graham and Tucker Elkins—shifts toward a more conceptual and cinematic approach while maintaining their focus on melody. The track pairs polished hooks with a broader artistic vision, extending into both long-form and short-form videos that reflect the duo’s background in art and film. Sonically, the single continues the project’s fluid identity, blending indie pop sensibilities with a more experimental structure.
Commenting on the track, the band says:
“It’s tough to say exactly what this song is about, but the title seems important and it’s where we got the title for the album. Something that feels kind of desperate and feels sort of human. I think we wanted to get close to something that feels human in that way. Pleading for somebody to stop pleading for grace, begging for dignity.”
Ray Bull are gearing up to hit the road next month on a coast-to-coast U.S. tour, bringing the pulse of the new album to major cities like Chicago, Los Angeles, Seattle, and New York.
